Boarding from a jetway starts fairly quickly, but some non-jetway parking spots takes quite a while before the passenger bus appears. (I usually wait until my FA tells me that the cabin crew are ready.) While GSX prepares, I'm taken directly to the FCDU Load Progress Screen (21) where I wait until GSX has counted the first PAX to have Boarded. when I think it's time for Boarding, I call for GSX to begin Boarding. Ergo, don't start GSX Boarding before advancing past FCDU screen #13.īack to my boarding process. It's also when the FCDU communicates the PAX and Crew counts to GSX, as long as the Aircraft Configuration doesn't preclude doing that. So this is where I go hands-off the FCDU. But the current FCDU will allow you to Proceed (or to Commit, if that's your airline's choice) even if Catering and Fueling are underway.

In previous versions of FSCaptain, the FCDU wouldn't allow me to pass this screen if Catering is underway and if I had selected HONOR_OTHER.
